The ABC's of Parental Unit Visits

They came, they saw, they conquered... the heat, the smells, my impatience. And they brought me goodies.

A/c hotels every single night
Betty Jean brings me tuna fish
Charles pays for everything
Drink beer cause I aint in Gujarat
Eat American food more than Indian food
Friends meet parental units over extravagant dinners
Gchat-less for 8 days
Hotel rooms vegged in for hours
International news rediscovered on hotel TV
Joy rides in rickshaws at 15mph
Knee problems fixed by brand new Rainbow sandals
Lots of white tourists around makes me uncomfortable
Mom learns the art of squat toilet
Namaste said way too much
Oily Indian food temporarily voted off the island subcontinent
Poolside relaxing preferred to sightseeing, by far
Quickly running across the road, mom has vice grip on arm
Room service ordered at all possible times
Showers taken with both hands free
Taj Mahal family pictures X 500
Unattractive Indian diaper-tourist-pants galore
Very crazy Indian drivers scare my mom
Western toilets sat on, smiles made
Xylophone instruments in Rajasthan are cool
Yell at train berth hijackers
Zipping around town in private a/c car is heaven

  1. I think this post is most effective knowing your needs for the lavatorious luxuries of the western world. Or a proper shitter and a shower as it were.

  2. Those are great photos! I may or may not be "borrowing" your ABC style in a newsweek piece in the near or distant future.
